Join the Virtual U.S. Coast Guard

Members of the vUSCG go through extensive and continuous training to ensure they are some of the best on the VATSIM network.  The vUSCG is looking for highly motivated people who enjoy simulating the U.S. Coast Guard.

Although the vUSCG Basic Training Program teaches flight skills and is available to all new recruits, it is preferred that applicants have a basic knowledge of VFR & IFR flight rules as well ATC communications & procedures.  Special flight skills, such as TACAN approaches, equipment drops and SAR patterns will be covered during training.

vUSCG trainees typically complete the training program after 30 - 40 hours of ground school and flight time.

Our  new concept lets the new recruit to train at his or her pace while keeping an active status. Questions and direction during training will fall under the direct supervision of CG-07 our Training Director.

Training covers communications (ATC & Coast Guard), airspace, weather, IFR & VFR flights, basic flight maneuvering, SAR patterns and much more.  Active Duty aircrews, on average, fly a minimum of 4 hours per month (2 hours per month for Reservist).

If you would like to be part of the vUSCG, and meet the requirements below at the bottom right, download the application and e-mail to the vUSCG Training Director (e-mail link included in the application).

Any questions can be addressed to our Personnel  Director CG-03 at CG-03@vuscg.org
