The process to become CG1 /
CG2 certified is as follows:
-
Contact your DCO to request certification
-
DCO
will contact the Training Director to advise of incoming
candidate.
-
Upon approval of the
request, the pilot will be given orders to
relocate to Andrews AFB, where the two aircraft
are stationed.
-
The pilot must complete
three (3) ILS landings in CG1 with ATC on-line.
Pilot shall supply the District 5 commander with
the ATC controller's name, VATSIM ID and area they
were controlling.
-
Every effort must be made to
conduct the flights with ATC on-line, however, due
to scheduling conflicts, this may not always be
possible. If this is the case, the pilot
shall contact the Training Director or designate, and he/she
shall be on-line to monitor the ILS approaches.
-
Upon successful completion, the Training Director will submit the pilots
name to receive the CG1/CG2 certification ribbon.
-
Certification entitles the
pilot to fly any of the CG1/CG2 flights posted on
the NATCOM forum.
This
certification is a requirement for advancement to vLieutenant Commander.
