vUSCG Advanced Training

Coast Guard One / Coast Guard Two Certification

The process to become CG1 / CG2 certified is as follows:

  1. Contact your DCO to request certification

  2. DCO will contact the Training Director to advise of incoming candidate.

  3. Upon approval of the request, the pilot will be given orders to relocate to Andrews AFB, where the two aircraft are stationed.

  4. The pilot must complete three (3) ILS landings in CG1 with ATC on-line.  Pilot shall supply the District 5 commander with the ATC controller's name, VATSIM ID and area they were controlling.

  5. Every effort must be made to conduct the flights with ATC on-line, however, due to scheduling conflicts, this may not always be possible.  If this is the case, the pilot shall contact the Training Director or designate, and he/she shall be on-line to monitor the ILS approaches.

  6. Upon successful completion, the Training Director will submit the pilots name to receive the CG1/CG2 certification ribbon.

  7. Certification entitles the pilot to fly any of the CG1/CG2 flights posted on the NATCOM forum.

This certification is a requirement for advancement to vLieutenant Commander.
